Matricel´s collagen scaffold ACI-Maix^(TM) is one of the first products in Europe and Australia that was used clinically for the tissue engineering of articular cartilage. So far several thousand patients have been treated successfully with this product according to the so-called Collagen-covered Autologous Chondrocyte Implantation (CACI) or Matrix-induced Autologous Chondrocyte Implantation (MACI®).
