The scaffolds are provided with detailed “Instructions for Use” and we will be pleased to further assist you regarding handling and use of the scaffolds.
OptiMaix scaffolds are not indicated for human use. However, it is our understanding, that new clinical applications should be the ultimate goal of research & development projects in Tissue Engineering. Therefore, Matricel is also prepared to provide guidance to its customers through the regulatory framework of a product development and is able to provide scaffolds that meet all regulatory and safety requirements for a clinical study. Please contact us, if your preclinical results with OptiMaix scaffolds might lead to a dedicated product development.
Matricel´s full quality assurance system according to DIN EN ISO 13485:2003 is approved for the development, production and distribution of biomaterials for applications in medicine, pharmaceutics and biotechnology. Matricel´s clinical product "ACI-Maix" has been used successfully in several thousand patients for the tissue engineering treatment of articular cartilage defects according to the MACI®-method.
